This is the furthest I’ve gotten building or distributing any software. I’m not the only one using Roe every day. That’s huge in itself. Exciting but I hope to have hundreds of thousands of people using Roe every day… in the near(ish) future.
0.1.0 was released a few days go. You can download read the release notes here.
Side note, my wife and I are having a baby sometime near the end of this month. Our lives are about to completely change, but we’re a lot calmer about it than I would ever have guessed.
I’m hoping that Roe will also change our lives in a different way, and the lives of other people. First, I have to figure out how to get the first 300 people to try it. I didn’t build Roe to make money though; Roe making money means I can spend more time building Roe.
This is a chasm I’ve never found a way across; getting the word out. I’ve made albums, podcasts, websites, apps and videos but I’ve never figured out how to get any of them in earshot of the people that may want to hear about them.
I’m planning to livestream 5 days a week. I don’t have hard expectations there but since I have to create a bunch of short tutorial videos, why not create them live and see what happens.
I’m not a fan of social media and I hate internet marketing but it must be done. Can I market Roe in a way that feels… right? Do I have the luxury of asking that question?
I’m going to find out. Download Roe and try it out. It’s really good and getting better every day.
